Meet Kavita Chitale
Kavita Chitale, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, Dip ABLM, has been practicing as a Nurse Practitioner since 2019.
She is dual board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in Family Practice and by the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine in Lifestyle Medicine. She has experience in family medicine, urgent care medicine, as well as emergency medicine. Her areas of clinical interest are urgent care and prevention via lifestyle modification.
She has also been a preceptor for EMT, paramedic, nursing, and nurse practitioner students.
Kavita attended Collin College in McKinney, TX, for an Associates in Nursing, and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX. She graduated with a Master’s in Science in Nursing, followed by a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Texas in Arlington, TX. She also graduated from the University of Poona in Maharashtra, India, with a Bachelor's in English and a Master's in Communication Studies.
She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Association, Texas Nurses Association, American College of Lifestyle Medicine, Obesity Medicine Association, and Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.
In addition to English, Kavita speaks Marathi and Hindi/Urdu fluently.
On a personal note, she loves to cook and is very passionate about, preventive care with a low fat, whole food plant-based lifestyle. She also enjoys reading and watching movies from all over the world. Kavita is married and the mother of three. She studied ‘Kathak’ (an Indian classical dance from) while growing up in India. She used to be a professional photographer and graphic designer before getting into healthcare. She aspires to be a writer someday.
